Learning and Exploring

I was in Prescott for a few days last week. A friend and I rented a cabin and painted silk scarves. It was so relaxing creating outdoors, listening to birds sing and the sound of pine tree tops blowing in the wind. No phones. No computers. No commitments. Ahh! A little bit of heaven.

My latest passion is with nuno felted scarves. I'm in love with them. I've seen them for sale online for awhile now and decided to take action and made my first nuno wet felted scarf. I had a sense of how it was done.  Since I have a visual and hands-on learning style I watched a few demonstrations on youtube and picked up a some great pointers along the way. Making Manifest the Image

At times the artist muse makes known her presence by offering up vivid images before I awake in the morning. The medium varies from jewelry designs to essays to watercolor paintings. I try to pay attention and honor the inspiration. I'm better at it sometimes than others. What I have learned is that the muse may fade into the periphery of my imagination but it doesn't take much to coach her into the limelight. I am thankful that she never gives up waiting for me to engage her time honored assistance in the creative process.
